‘True Blood’: HBO Max To Launch Podcast With Kristin Bauer & Deborah Ann Woll, Produced By Janina Gavankar’s Safe Haven

EXCLUSIVE: True Blood is the latest high-end drama series to get its own rewatch podcast series.

Kristin Bauer, who played vampire Pam De Beaufort, and Deborah Ann Woll, who played vampire Jessica Hamby, will host Truest Blood, which is produced by Safe Haven Productions, the company run by True Blood co-star Janina Gavankar.

The audio series will launch on HBO Max, which recently moved into podcasts, as well as on other podcast platforms…

 

Janina Gavankar & Russo Schelling Writing Femme Monster Movie For 108

EXCLUSIVE: The Way Back and The Morning Show actress Janina Gavankar is writing and starring in a female-driven monster movie based on the ancient Hindu myth of the Rakshasa. 108 Media will finance and produce the pic.

Gavankar co-wrote the feature with her creative partner Russo Schelling. The myth of Rakshasa is a bloodthirsty demon that makes mankind its prey, after being banished from the realm of the gods and forced to live among men. The project follows Gavankar and Schelling’s co-directed short film Stucco, which won the Special Jury Recognition for Creature Design prize at SXSW 2020…

 

Gavankar Shares Ben Affleck’s Memorable Reaction to Her Short Film

“I told Ben the whole entire thing. I pitched him the whole story. I pitched him the tongue sequence, which is a pretty intense moment,” she explained. “We love magical realism, my creative partner and I, but that means we have to really pitch ideas to as many people as we can to make sure that what we’re trying to do is not lost behind the gag.”

“So, I pitched the tongue sequence to Ben and he just twisted up his little face and I was like, ‘I really got something.'”…
